Open-loop geothermal system
Three heat pumps. All the energy from the earth.
Thanks to the favourable hydro-geological conditions of the site, the hotel has an open-loop geothermal system which, with three heat pumps, meets all of the property’s thermal needs.
Heating, domestic hot water, pool, spa: everything draws on the constant warmth of the ground below. This choice eliminated fossil-fuel systems at the source — and with them, every emission from combustion.
It is not a technical compromise. It is a design decision made from the foundations up.
Solar thermal · integrated into the design
From the sun, a meaningful energy contribution — without sacrificing design.
The solar thermal system, present across the whole property, works hand in hand with geothermal energy to cover the hotel’s energy needs. Even at 1,568 metres. Even under the snow.
Advanced technologies have made it possible to combine performance and aesthetics: lines and architecture remain in perfect harmony with the nature of Val d’Ayas.
Every year, thanks to our solar thermal system, we avoid the emission of 68 tonnes of CO₂.
From foundations to roof, a building of wood.
A “classically modern” building made entirely with renewable resources: local wood, valley stone, low-impact materials. The architecture is devoted to respecting nature in every detail.
Local wood
Load-bearing structure, cladding and finishes in wood from Val d’Ayas. A renewable raw material, short-travelled, in continuity with the landscape.
Valley stone
Foundations and details in local stone, worked with traditional techniques. A material that connects the building to the land where it was born.
Natural insulation
Walls and roofs with high-performance natural insulation. Thermal comfort is ensured while keeping energy loss to a minimum.
Reduced impact
Every construction choice aims to reduce environmental impact: from supplier selection to site management, from logistics to maintenance.
